Fig in freshman year had to learn to let go of the hurt and anger she had towards her mom and start to understand who she was and her lineage after the world changing revelation she had before the show even started.
In sophomore year, she had to unlearn her toxic and harmful behaviors when it comes to romantic relationships. Finally understanding what it means to love and be loved and embrace her infernal nature, taking ownership of who she is and letting go of who she thought she would be before her horns came in.
In Junior Year she had to finally take that final step towards introspection, realize her worth outside of her role in the life of the people she loves and that being a protector and a good friend doesn't mean she is not allowed to choose what she feels is right for her own future.

Pairings: Aegon II Targaryen x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 2.1k
Content Warnings: Yet more terrible rich people doing terrible things, mentions of blood, lust and all that stuff.
A/N: Back in my dream house, playing with these beautiful dolls. Nothing is real, words are a construct. I hope you enjoy, feedback is so appreciated ♡
She will not look.
It drives him crazy, and she enjoys it.
Every detail of her attire for the evening has been chosen purposely, carefully. The dress that exposes her shoulders, reveals just enough cleavage to be alluring and keep her virtuous reputation intact. The way her hair has been elegantly braided back into a bun, with enough left loose to cascade down her back.
She looks elegant, beautiful, graceful and sophisticated. Everything she is supposed to be. And yet she knows that the eyes on her do not see her as those virtues alone.
Especially his eyes.
She feels his gaze burning her skin, searing into her. He sees her to be as beautiful and graceful as everyone else does, but he also sees her as a woman. A desirable, alluring, enticing and enchanting woman. The woman he wants as his own, in his bed or on the dining table in front of everyone gathered, it matters little.
She keeps her head held high, a smile on her lips as she glides across the floor. The men at the table stand for her, watch her approach the seat a servant is pulling out for her.
It's quite sweet how desperate he is for her to see him, she thinks. Such a little puppy, needy for attention. She thanks the servant as they ease her chair forward, keeping her attention elsewhere.
The men sit, conversation begins to flow freely and she still does not look in his direction. Her body is warm under his gaze, she basks in his attention without acknowledgement.
It will be worth it when she does look, and she wants to make it worth her while. Once she looks at him, smiling, scowling, screaming, she will be gone from the table. She will be racing down halls, her skirts bundled up in her hand, the other clutching his. They will not stop until they are alone.
She will tell herself that she will stick to her well laid plans.
She will tease him, make him more desperate than he has ever been, begging for her.
She will have him at her mercy, feel the heat of his desire poring into her body.
She tells herself that is when she will walk away, leave him desperate and alone.
Some lies serve to make the truth even sweeter.
But alas, there is good food, excellent wine and fine company to be enjoyed first, so she will prolong his suffering yet, to extend their imminent ecstasy.
It was not always such, that he would gaze longingly at her while she could focus her gaze elsewhere to tease him. She had grown into the power he had given her, he had yet to grow into the power given to him by blood.
He didn't need to grow, to evolve. Power would be his, the crown would be his, history would record his name regardless of his growth or ability. Why would he change himself when it was not necessary?
Gods, his casual, lazy arrogance infuriated her at times. Could one even be nominated as arrogant without an understanding of their privilege?
It was all so easy for him, as it had always been. From the day he entered the world, his path was clear. A smooth road leading him along a blessed and peaceful life. There was little consequence for his actions, from what she had seen, so why wouldn't he test the boundaries?
That seemed to be his childhood, seeing how far he could stretch one's limits. She had harbored a youthful crush for many years, intrigued as she was by a prince with infinite freedom, who could do as he so pleased.
He never seemed to notice her, unless it was to make some brattish remark, pull her hair, or tease her. She was nothing to him then, just a small, plain girl who barely existed in his orbit. And still she kept the crush, even when she questioned herself for it.
He grew up to be even more of a spoilt brat, and while at times he repulsed her, she never ceased to be drawn to him, to crave just an ounce of his attention. He possessed a confidence that was foreign to her, an air of arrogance and greed surrounded him, but she saw the moments where he could be more. The quiet, rare moments where he would make his brother laugh, or wrap his arm around his sister, devote the time to listen to her.
At 13, she was sent away, a girl still. Her father had promised her to the son of a wealthy Lord, and she was to spend time in her new home.
There were worse places to be than Highgarden, particularly in the warmth of summer. Her new surroundings were beautiful, peaceful, and delicate. The people around her were even more beautiful. She felt like a weed planted among roses.
Her first weeks in the Reach were achingly lonely, she found herself longing for life in the capital, in the keep. She had been given a maid, who, while being polite and obedient and friendly, was ultimately older than her by several years, and did not seem to care for more than her staunchly required duties.
Her betrothed would occasionally take her for walks in the labyrinth surrounding the castle, which she found enjoyable if only as a means to pass time. He was a boy in the process of becoming a man just as she was a girl in the process of becoming a woman. They had perfectly pleasant conversations, though nothing that couldn't also be spoken of with any commoner on the street.
She thought of home often, thought of writing, but knew she had nothing of note to say. He wouldn't have read it anyway.
Several weeks after she first arrived, her first blood arrived in the night. She felt embarrassed to watch her maid uncover it, sitting by the window and looking away.
Word of the event clearly spread, as later that day the sister of her betrothed appeared at her door, a smile and an arm offered to her.
She was a rose in bloom, her future sister-in-law told her. And a rose must be tended to carefully to allow full blossom.
A girl she could no longer be, certain traits were to be taken, but the cloak of girlhood was shed. From that day, her training began.
How to walk, stand, carry herself. How to speak, when to speak, to whom, and what to speak about. What to wear, what to reveal, what to hide, what to tease.
She was not just to be another lovely flower in the garden, she was to be the rose desired to be taken and tended to.
It all seemed to be too much, lacking any real sense of purpose. What was all the work, effort, and pain for if she was only to sit in beautiful gardens sipping tea and discussing tedious affairs with beautiful, vacant roses? It felt as though there was no reward for the work of the transformation.

Until the garden was opened to admirers.
She had attended many grand events in her time, the swell of a gathered crowd was not so unusual to her. But a grand event in Highgarden was not as one would have been back home.
There was much more of an emphasis on beauty, that was what she noticed first. The most exquisite, bright, beautiful flowers covered every surface, lighting up the room and giving it a soft, romantic feel. There were flower petals scattered around wine glasses, sprinkled on plates of food that were more of a work of art than something edible.
Though it was not enough just to have free flowing wine, and mountains of food, everything was considered carefully. The wine perfectly complimented each course of food, poured at the perfect time. There was little chance of hunger, the food was served in abundance, though with purpose. It was not just to display wealth, it was not just to pile meat on tables endlessly, to indulge in gluttony.
Dishes were served, removed, and replaced with something even more beautiful and delicious. Everything was presented carefully, beauty gracing each dish.
Music was a constant, with harps and delicate melodies replacing the lutes and singing she had known. With the music came dancing, endless dancing that she could have watched for hours. Beautiful people moving in perfect unison, skirts swishing the floor, bodies twirling together.
As it transpired, the food, wine, music and dancing were secondary to that which seemed to matter above all.
Roses.
Whispers of who was the most beautiful, the most graceful, the most desirable. She never expected that her name would be among those most whispered about.
No longer was she the plain little girl who teased or ignored.
She had bloomed into a woman of note, at such an age that allowed more time for growth, for use. It frightened and exhilarated her at once, this newfound attention.
These men would not tease her, pull her hair, or push her over. They would approach her gladly, kiss her hand, and admire her beauty.
She tested the limits of her newfound powers, brazen with confidence and overwhelmed with vulnerability. She could say no to the most beautiful man she'd ever seen, only to have an even more beautiful man approach her, ask for her hand in a dance.
In those moments she thought of home, of him. Would he look upon her differently now? Would he still tease her and cast her aside? She felt a thrill when she thought of him seeing her as the woman she had become, and getting her chance to ignore him, cast him aside like he had never meant anything to her.
The only man who seemed disaffected by her transformation was her betrothed. He was not callous, or cruel, rather..indifferent. He was perfectly polite, kind, considered, a gentleman. He did not look at her the way other men did, she had learned what it was to have a man's desire and she did not have the desire of her betrothed.
It was not his fault, nor hers for feeling no desire for him. They were not a suitable match, they could never truly bring one another happiness or their houses a true line.
That was not to say she was satisfied with the arrangement. Part of her training had been to learn the art of seduction - how to seduce, and how to be seduced. How it was to feel truly satisfied, and how to make it appear so she was truly satisfied, such falsehoods could be required. And would be required, for the duration of her married life.
She knew how it felt to have a man look at her with desire. She knew how it felt to have her back arch, her body write under her own touch. While she had not yet had the two connect, she was not willing to go without it. It would be cruel to deny herself, and her betrothed what they both wanted.
She refused to be a rose waiting in the garden for someone to choose her. She chose herself, and she knew what she wanted.
It was quite the scandal. Tragic, but not above whispers. A widow before she could even gain the title. Her betrothed killed not three days before their wedding. It had been a celebratory hunting trip, his last chance for some freedom before undertaking his duties. How she had cried when she was woken in the night, desperately clutching at her maid's arms, begging for it to be a vicious lie.
She was comforted by his family, mourned as the daughter they would not gain. His brother would gain a title, his sisters would gain pity, she would gain her freedom.
Sacrifices were part of life.
Arriving back in the capital was like waking from a vivid dream, coming back to reality. A reality she was more prepared than ever to face.
Gone was the girl, here was the woman.
A woman with desires, with needs, with purpose. And she knew exactly how to claim all of them.

A Soft Place
In a post-Rumbling world, where the threat of Titans no longer looms, Vanessa Sinclair finds herself living a quiet life, working at her family’s bakery in Wall Rose. Curvy and self-conscious, Vanessa has always faded into the background, overshadowed by her more outgoing friends. But everything changes when Captain Levi Ackerman, Humanity's Strongest Soldier, begins visiting the bakery regularly. What starts as a simple exchange of tea and pastries quickly evolves into something more. Levi, drawn to her quiet strength and beauty, takes Vanessa on a journey that forces her to confront her insecurities, while learning that sometimes, what lies beneath the surface is more than enough. (Levi x Plus Sized OC)

HOWEVER—this isn’t the end of their journey! I’m thrilled to introduce the sequel:
✨ "A Gentle Place" ✨
It is a Patreon exclusive, and this continuation dives deeper into Vanessa and Levi’s life as they navigate marriage, parenthood, and reconnecting with estranged family members.
The first FOUR chapters of "A Gentle Place" are already up on Patreon and you can join us if you're interested in following along :)
But to celebrate, here’s a small snippet from Chapter 1:
Chapter One
The soft hum of the morning filled the Ackerman household, sunlight streaming through the partially open curtains in their cozy living room. Levi was on the floor, his shirt discarded, beads of sweat glistening on his chest as he effortlessly moved through his workout routine. Push-ups, sit-ups, and planks — each motion executed with precision and focus. On the couch, a three-month-old Violet lay on her soft, quilted mat, her hazel eyes wide and curious as she watched her father. She let out tiny gurgles and coos, her little fists waving in the air as if she were cheering him on.
Levi caught her gaze mid-push-up, pausing just for a second to smirk at her. "What are you staring at, little brat? You think you can do this too?" His voice, usually so stern and commanding, was soft and teasing.
Violet kicked her legs in response, the smallest of giggles escaping her. Levi felt a surge of warmth in his chest that no workout could ever produce. It was a feeling he'd grown used to since she was born — an overwhelming sense of love and gratitude. He never thought he’d get to be a father. Hell, he wasn’t even sure if he’d be any good at it. But here she was: perfect, tiny, and so full of life. And here he was, doing his best for her and for Vanessa.
From the kitchen, Vanessa leaned against the doorframe, a small smile tugging at her lips as she watched her husband and daughter. She had been kneading bread dough, the soft scent of yeast and flour clinging to her hands, but the sight before her was far more captivating than any recipe. Levi’s focused expression, the way his muscles flexed with every movement, and the gentle way he interacted with Violet — it all melted her heart.
“You’re going to spoil her with all the attention,” Vanessa teased lightly, her voice carrying over to him.
Levi finished his set and sat back on his knees, running a hand through his damp hair. “Not possible,” he replied simply, turning to glance at her. His steely eyes softened as they met hers. “She deserves all the attention in the world.”
Vanessa’s smile widened as she stepped into the room, wiping her flour-dusted hands on a towel. She walked over to Violet, who was now blowing spit bubbles and staring up at her with those same wide, hazel eyes. Vanessa leaned down to kiss her daughter’s forehead before brushing a hand over her soft black hair — hair that matched her father’s perfectly.
Levi reached out and tugged gently at Vanessa’s wrist, pulling her to sit beside him on the floor. “How’s the bread coming along?”
“Still needs to rise,” she said, settling down next to him. She tucked her legs beneath her and rested her chin on her palm, gazing down at Violet. “She’s so fascinated by you. It’s adorable.”
“She knows I’m her favorite,” Levi said with a faint smirk, his hand resting lightly on Violet’s tiny foot. The baby responded with a coo, and he couldn’t help but let out a low chuckle. “See? Told you.”
Vanessa rolled her eyes playfully. “She’s going to have you wrapped around her little finger.”
“She already does.”
Vanessa’s heart swelled at his words, but the warmth was accompanied by a flicker of self-consciousness as her gaze shifted downward. Her hand instinctively brushed against the fabric of her shirt, which hung loosely over her postpartum belly. The stretch marks that lined her skin, the softness that hadn’t been there before — it was all a constant reminder of how her body had changed. She loved Violet with every fiber of her being, but learning to love her postpartum self was harder.
Levi noticed the shift in her expression immediately. He knew her better than anyone now, and the subtle ways she tensed, the way her hand drifted to her stomach, didn’t escape his attention. Without a word, he reached out and placed a warm hand over hers, stilling her movements.
“Don’t,” he said softly, his voice steady but gentle.
Vanessa looked up at him, her eyes glistening. “Levi, I just… I don’t look like I used to.”
“No,” he agreed, his tone calm as he shifted closer to her. “You look better.”
Vanessa blinked, caught off guard by his words. “Better?”
Levi’s hand moved from hers to rest on her waist, his thumb brushing over the soft fabric of her shirt. “Your body carried our daughter, Vanessa. It created her, kept her safe, and brought her into this world. How could I not think it’s beautiful?”
She bit her lip, her cheeks flushing at his sincerity. “It’s just… it’s hard sometimes, you know? I see the stretch marks, the extra weight, and—”
“And I see the woman I love,” Levi interrupted firmly, his hand moving to cup her cheek. “The woman who gave me a family. You’re beautiful, Vanessa. Always.”
Her chest tightened with emotion, tears threatening to spill as she leaned into his touch. “You’re too good to me, you know that?”
“No,” he said simply, his thumb brushing away a tear that escaped down her cheek. “You deserve it. All of it.”
Vanessa let out a watery laugh, leaning forward to rest her forehead against his. “I love you, Levi.”
“I love you too,” he murmured, his lips brushing against hers in a soft, lingering kiss.
Violet chose that moment to let out a loud, gurgling coo, drawing their attention back to her. Levi chuckled, pulling away from Vanessa to glance down at their daughter. “Looks like someone’s feeling left out.”
Vanessa laughed, wiping at her eyes as she reached down to pick Violet up, cradling her against her chest. “You’re going to be a handful, aren’t you?” she cooed, pressing a kiss to Violet’s forehead.
Levi wrapped an arm around Vanessa’s shoulders, pulling her and Violet closer to him. The three of them sat together on the floor, bathed in the soft glow of the morning light. It wasn’t perfect — life never was — but it was theirs, and it was everything they needed.
For Levi, who had spent so much of his life fighting and surviving, this was peace. His gentle place. And he would do everything in his power to protect it.

Ann Ocean was very fond of singer Taylor Swift and her work. Throughout her life, she has always had one constant source of comfort and inspiration, a beautiful woman named Taylor.
Her melodious voice and soulful lyrics were a guiding star for her, a source of comfort both in joy and in sorrow. It is impossible to express in words how much she loves and appreciates Taylor Swift and her work.
From the moment she first heard her angelic voice, Ann felt an instant connection. Taylor seemed to be speaking directly to her soul, telling about her deepest emotions and experiences. Every text she wrote resonated with Ann in a way no other artist could. Taylor's ability to capture the raw and vulnerable moments of life in her music was truly impressive.
From the moment Ann first heard her debut single "Tim McGraw", she was immediately attracted to Taylor's music. Her lyrics had a special and authentic quality that resonated with her on a deep level.
As the years passed, Taylor Swift continued to release new music, and her songs became the soundtrack to Ann's life. Whenever she felt joyful, songs like "Shake It Off" and "22" were there to cheer her up and remind her to embrace happiness in life. These songs became anthems of positivity and self-acceptance, they gave Ann the opportunity to accept her individuality and dance as if no one was watching.
But even in the darkest moments, Taylor's music really became a lifeline for her. When she found herself in the depths of a broken heart, her ballads like "All Too Well" and "Clean" were there to comfort her and remind her that she is not alone in her pain. Her ability to capture the complex emotions of love and loss with such honesty and vulnerability was a rare gift, and she couldn't help but feel a little healed with each verse.
As she navigated the choppy waters of adolescence and adolescence, Taylor's songs were her constant companions. With her soulful ballads, she lifted her spirits in the darkest moments of her life, reminding Ann that she was not alone in her struggle. Whether she was facing a broken heart, a failed friendship, or the endless confusion of growing up, her music was there to heal wounds and offer a special solace that no one else could offer.
Listening to Taylor's songs was not just a form of escape from reality, but also a source of empowerment. Her ability to express her emotions unabashedly and fearlessly inspired Ann to do the same. Her music inspired Ann to accept her true self and live for real. Through her experience, she taught her that vulnerability is not a weakness, but a strength.
In addition to her music, Taylor herself was an incredible source of inspiration for Ann. Her steadfastness, determination and unwavering commitment to her work have left an indelible mark on her heart. She showed her that success does not come without hard work and self-sacrifice, and that even in the face of adversity it is possible to rise above and achieve greatness.
Taylor's willingness to use her fame to defend important cases and defend justice further strengthened admiration for her. She has used her fame and influence to support numerous charities, advocate for equal rights, and speak out against injustice. Her desire to make the world a better place reflects her sincere character and unwavering desire to have a positive impact.
Over the years, Taylor's music has evolved along with her own growth. From the country tunes of her early years to the sophisticated pop anthems of today, her artistic evolution has never ceased to amaze Ann. With each new album, she pushes boundaries, experiments with new sounds and tells stories that resonate with people from all walks of life.
It's impossible to mention Taylor Swift without acknowledging the incredible connection she has made with her fans. The loyalty and dedication of the Swiftie community is a testament to the genuine connection she has established with her audience. Through meetings and greetings, unexpected visits and personal communication, she made her fans feel that they were seen, heard and loved. This interaction has created a sense of belonging and community unparalleled in the music industry.
She was a constant presence, a guiding star in times of darkness and an inspiration to fearlessly pursue dreams. Her music was the soundtrack to life, giving comfort, strength and hope in both the best and the worst times. Ann has often wondered how infinitely grateful I am to her for her artistry, sincerity and the immeasurable influence she has had on her life.
And now, with a smile on her face, Ann was running all over the big apartment, shouting lines from Taylor's songs. This apartment was located in Monaco and was the temporary home of her and her boyfriend, F1 racer Charles Leclerc, when he was in his homeland.
For a moment, Ann felt like the girl she was ten years ago. To this day, she remains a devoted fan of Taylor Swift and dreamed of attending her concert. As a child, her parents did not have enough money to provide their daughter with a ticket to her dream, and so Ann gathered with her friends in the house and they watched videos of concerts and imagined themselves right there. Right in the midst of a beautiful crowd, among people who are connected by a strong thread with Miss Taylor's music.
Unable to contain her euphoria, Ann found herself overwhelmed with energy. She began to move almost in a dance rhythm, running from room to room, looking around the apartment with childish enthusiasm. Walking through the marble corridors, she couldn't help but hum lines from one of her favorite songs, Taylor Swift's hit "Shake it Off".
"Hey, hey, hey," Ann sang playfully, and her voice echoed in the walls, "just think, while you've been gettin' down and out about the liars and the dirty, dirty cheats of the world, you could've been gettin' down to this sick bit."
A smile danced on Ann's lips as she continued her impromptu performance. She whirled around the spacious living room, the light reflecting off the polished floor, creating an ethereal glow. With each turn, she displayed a carefree demeanor, reflecting the lyrics of a song that glorified getting rid of negativity and accepting positivity.
Heading into the kitchen, Ann playfully grabbed a wooden spoon, using it as an imaginary microphone. "My ex-man brought his new girlfriend, she's like, "Oh my God!" but I'm just gonna shake and to the fella over there with the hella good hair won't you come on over, baby? we can shake, shake, shake," she sang passionately, imitating Taylor Swift's infectious charm. The melody and words perfectly combined with the infectious energy flowing through her veins.
With each room she passed, Ann's enthusiasm seemed to grow exponentially. The bright lyrics of "Shake it Off" filled the apartment, her voice echoing off the elegant walls. It was as if the very essence of the song merged with the wealth and beauty of Charles' home in Monaco. It was a moment of complete freedom when Ann showed her true self without any inhibitions.
Minutes turned into hours, and eventually Ann found herself in the master bedroom, where she completed her impromptu performance. Standing at the open doors of the balcony overlooking the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea, she sang the last lines of the chorus, there was a sense of triumph in her voice: "Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play and the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate. baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, I shake it off, I shake it off hoo-hoo-hoo"
As the last notes of Ann floated away into the blissful air, she felt a pair of arms hug her from behind. Charles, her beloved boyfriend, was standing there with a big smile, his eyes full of adoration. He calmly watched her exciting manifestation of joy and freedom, his heart was overflowing with love for the woman who brought bright colors to his world.
With a gentle kiss on the cheek, Charles joined Ann, appreciating the moment. Together they stood on the balcony, admiring the breathtaking view, secretly hoping that life would always be as harmonious and joyful as Ann's impromptu serenade in the heart of Monaco. Charles slowly put his hands on Anne's waist and pulled her closer to him.
"How would you like to go to Taylor's concert in the near future? I've seen the announcement of her new tour on Instagram and I'm sure she'll be glad to see such a devoted and such a beautiful fan."
Charles smiled sweetly and waited for his girlfriend's answer.
Anne's eyes widened in surprise and she turned to face Charles.
"What? Are you serious?"
"Absolutely. We'll buy you some sequinned dress, make bracelets and break your voice on the show. What do you think about it?"

Okay first off, I just gotta apologize if you've already received like three similar asks (I was tryna ask you on my phone but each time I went to submit the ask, my app crashed so if you received them already PLEASE ignore this and I apologize a million times 😭). BUT, I gotta ask you Kal, cause this has been on my mind for days now: is Agatha based on Aegon II by chance? I was just wondering cause they both have "A"'s and "G"'s in their names, plus Agatha lowkey has daddy issues (based on what you've told us anyways) and they both have beautiful Valyrian hair/eyes. I'm drunk as hell so I apologize if this sounds really friggin weird to you but I promise it made sense to me when I asked lolol. Also, unrelated, but I just want to say that I absolutely love watching the way your art evolves. Your art has always been wonderful IMO, and watching you share your growth with us is just so amazing. You're an incredible artist! ❤️❤️
First of all thank you so much! and don't worry about the asks lol it's only appeared one in my inbox!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And about your questions, Agatha is just happened to looks like Aegon II lol maybe because of her hairstyle?, I actually based her on teen Rhaenyra, bold and spoiled, reckless and about her daddy issues I got inspired from Jotaro and Jolyne from JJBA: stone ocean, her dad acted like he didn't care because he doesn't know how to show a proper affection but if anything happen to his daughter he would do anything to help her
And she also have Valyrian name! It's Aetha Targaryen she was my old targ oc that I redesigned and put her in HPHL, Agatha is the new name I chose for her because I need a vintage witchy lore-friendly English name for better roleplaying experience XD

20 (or so) Questions with Faye Winters
Let's connect with the resident heartbreaker of the sophomore class! Is Faye really all pirouettes and pixie dust or is she hiding something dark under the surface?
Tumblr media
Interviewer: Faye, thanks for delving deeper into this. Starting with your birthday – Pisces, right?
Faye: Yeah, that's correct. My birthday is March 2nd.
Interviewer: Any nicknames you go by?
Faye: Just Faye. It suits me. Wouldn't you agree? *leans in closer, resting her chin on her hand*
Interviewer: *starts to blush* Why, yes, I think it really does. Uh ok, anyway what are some of your good traits?
Faye: Well, I think that I'm a true free spirit. I love the way that contemporary dance makes me feel like my body can move and transform so fluidly. I think that I like bringing that side out in others as well breaking them out of their more structured shells to experience more of what life has to offer.
Interviewer: Interesting qualities indeed. And how about challenging traits?
Faye: I've been told that I'm too nice. I guess it's lead to a lot of misunderstanding. It's hard for me to set certain boundaries and just say no to people in general. I uh yeah...I guess that's all. *tucks hair behind ear*
Interviewer: Understandable. Any hobbies outside of your art?
Faye: When the weather is nice I go on weekly picnics with my friends. Once it gets cold outside I like to bake lots of little treats in the communal kitchen and host movie nights in the common room.
Interviewer: I bet your hallmates love that! You should think about becoming an RA. Ok, what would you say is your greatest strength?
Faye: I think that I'm really good at bringing people together. Whether it's to choreograph our next assignment or just a fun little hangout, I really try to stay engaged with my friends.
Interviewer: A beautiful way to connect with the world. And your biggest weakness?
Faye: I think that sometime I overcompensate with being really nice and super fun, because I'm scared. I'm scared that the main reason people like me is just how I look and my general persona. I try to just keep everyone around because I struggle to tell the difference between who's being fake and who's being genuine.
Interviewer: It can be tricky indeed. Describe yourself in one word.
Faye: Friendly.
Interviewer: How do you think others see you in one word?
Faye: Captivating.
Interviewer: Now onto fears. What’s your greatest fear?
Faye: I care a lot about what people think, more than I'm willing to admit. I think that if I could just focus more on the deeper connections that maybe I wouldn't spread myself so thin trying to be everyone's friend.
Interviewer: Finding real connections is hard, but super important. Top priorities at this point in your life?
Faye: Learning to say no so that I can protect myself and those who really care about me. Also, honing my skills in contemporary dance and sculpting – there's always room for growth.
Interviewer: Admirable goals. Family time – tell me more about yours.
Faye: Just an ordinary, loving family. They've always been supportive of my artistic pursuits, and I'm grateful for that.
Interviewer: It's wonderful to have a supportive foundation. Future goals – what's on your agenda?
Faye: Continuing to evolve as an artist, exploring more dance styles, traveling the world, and cultivating meaningful connections. I want depth in both my art and relationships.
Interviewer: Ambitious and heartfelt. How would you spend a rainy day?
Faye: Rainy days are perfect for dorm movie nights! I'll bake some desserts and make some warm drinks and then we can watch my favorite rainy day movie "Pride and Prejudice" the one with Keira Knightley of course.
Interviewer: Lovely. Favorite book?
Faye: "The Night Circus" by Erin Morgenstern. It's enchanting and I'm a sucker for romance.
Interviewer: And your favorite movie?
Faye: "Big Fish" and "Moulin Rouge." Yes both films star Ewan McGregor, and no I don't have a thing for him he's just a good actor. Anyways, both films are visually alluring with great storytelling, and the music in "Moulin Rouge" is fantastic.
Interviewer: Perfect choices. Any dark secrets?
Faye: To be completely honest I was bullied a lot as a kid. Once I hit high school and puberty kicked in some people started to like me romantically mostly. Lots of people accused me of stealing there partner, or I had my partners accuse me of cheating. The thing is that I've never cheated, heck I'm not even that much of a flirt. I just know that people can flip on you in a matter of seconds if you don't fit what they want, and it's really hard to navigate that kind of social landscape.
Interviewer: Woah, that was a lot. I'm sorry that you've had to deal with all of that. With time I'm sure you'll make some really great friends. On a lighter note, what would you say is your best feature?
Faye: I like my hair, I found a stylist in the city who knows how to cut my bangs just right.
Interviewer: And your least favorite physical feature?
Faye: I think my neck is too long. But that's not really a big deal I don't think about it that much.
Interviewer: Lastly, how would you describe being in love?
Faye: I'm not exactly sure how to answer that question after my recent breakup. I haven't really been able to stop thinking about Karla/Carlos. There's this song by Tamino it's called "Sunflower" I've had it on repeat for weeks. That's how I've been feeling about love I guess.
Interviewer: I see, I'll have to give it a listen. Thanks for sharing more about your life with me Faye. Excited to see your artistic journey continue to unfold!

Addiction as told by LDR
Tumblr media
1. For the last couple days I’ve been fascinated by the song Jump from the album Lana Del Rey AKA Lizzy Grant.
One time my little cousin (who’s since come around) told me she didn’t like to listen to Lana Del Rey because it made her feel dirty, like she just smoked a pack of cigarettes.
I think this effect is even stronger in her pre-LDR music, despite the brighter sound. Lana is a wealthy, glamorous starlet. But Lizzy Grant is forever immortalized in a world of motels, gas stations, Christmas lights, flamingo lawn ornaments, and bleach blonde hair.
Palm Trees in black and white/Last thing I saw before I died
Jump is a song about heroin, but it’s one of her most fun tracks. It has an almost childlike innocence to it. That disconnect between the dark subject matter and the sound of the music, her ‘cutesy’ approach, is really disarming. It almost puts a lump in your throat. Like, you know this young girl is in real danger, and here she is singing about the fun of it all.
The lines, “Hair thinnin’ in the wind” and “You got the grin of a very old man” creep me out in particular. It’s a scary image, and yet she’s sitting in his car innocently admiring him. It reads with a sense of dark humour. The simple chorus is just perfect; the tension hangs thick in the air as she asks, “Do you wanna (jump, jump, jump)?”
2. Art Deco is a beautiful track from Honeymoon that I always neglected until I realized it was not, in fact, a song about a man, but a solemn reflection on the naivety of her Lizzy Grant days. A sequel to Jump, if you will.
A little party never hurt no one, that’s why it’s alright/You want in but you just can’t win so you hang in the lights
A nobody aspiring to be a star, caught up in the attention and adrenaline that comes with the partying. I love her choice of words in describing the protagonist as “shining like gunmetal, cold and unsure”.
3. Each of Lana’s albums represent their own era and a sort of turning point. To me, Lust for Life seems to mark her turn toward happiness, growth, and building a future.
The song Heroin is a further reflection on the pull toward escapism. She condemns the drug, commenting on its destructiveness, but lyrics still hint to a sense of nostalgia and longing.
Oh, makes me feel like I can change/Oh, all of my evil ways and shit/Oh, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t sick of it
Substances and addiction are a central theme to a lot of Lana’s music, so forgive me for only mentioning these three songs in particular. Another that jumps to mind is Fuck it I love you off the album Norman Fucking Rockwell, in which she sings “I used to shoot up my veins in neon”.
I suppose the overall point here is: it’s interesting to watch LDR evolve in style and sound, but even more-so to witness the tremendous evolution of character which shines through in her lyrics. I love the song Jump, but it’s hard to listen to with the added context of her later music. The whole fun, fast world of Lizzy Grant gets a lot scarier the longer you dwell on it.

Crimes of the Future (2022)
Tumblr media
I finally got to watching Cronenberg's newest production and expectedly, it stuns in visuals and storytelling. Crimes of the Future plays in the distant future, where humanity has enhanced life with technologies that visually remind of alien bodies and which directly interacts with our bodily functions. The body horror aspect he introduces is human evolution -- the body rapidly growing new organs. The introduction captures. A child, a shipwreck floating within close distance, plastic buckets. We are allowed to observe the boy chewing on the bucket; we are an observer just like his mother. And it culminates in filicide, the disdain towards her own child and the husband who gave it to her is all that hangs in the air. Then Cronenberg thrusts the viewer deep into his new world, following a performance artist duo for the rest of the film, we experience what has become of art and medicine. Between Saul Tenser, the man who grows organs at an abnormal rate and hates it, and his partner Caprice, who makes them into art as she removes them, the viewer observes.
Tumblr media
Art is body. Art is evolution. Art is everything.
The absence of pain, the new growths inside the body, the changing human race is glorified. Cronenberg lets us into this world, shows the giant showrooms, the filled theatres for this new performance art: Surgery. Everyone loves viewing the artists cut into their partners, watch them tattoo the most intimate parts of the human body and watch flesh give way to metal. Pain has become a form of pleasure, "Surgery is the new sex". He cements this new life philosophy in the prolific duo we follow, we watch them lay together naked and let their tech, their art supplies, cut into them. Sure, we also get a sex scene, an oral service conducted on our lead's organs, but any Cronenberg viewer is used to these by now. The beauty of art being second to none juxtaposes the complete abandonment of medicine. The set design splits the worlds apart, the filled, extravagant art environments distanced from the empty, run-down organ registration offices. And its discomforting. The mold on the walls urges the viewer to leave the scene, to return to the performance art, instead of staying in these horrible rooms. I'm not here to give a full recap, rather, my critique serves me. My deep wish to appreciate this movie in all its beauty stilled through the written word. Cronenberg's newest movie plays on the theme of mortality. How humanity will survive when rid of their pain system, and the adaptation that our flesh tries to push onto us. They're self-inflicted evolutionary traits: the world's ecosystem is gone, the viewer is never given a shred of nature outside of the opening. In Cronenbergian fashion, we view simply the intersection of machinery and flesh. What our own need to further technology has done to our psyche, our biology, our very beings. How should the human body adapt? The evolutionists answer: new digestion. Plastic, available en masse, finally bio-degradable by those who caused its massive spread in the first place. Returning the trash to the trasher. We are left to wonder if humanity will survive. Are we still human if our bodies evolve with unrecognizable organs, alien flesh inside us? Can we survive if these evolutions, this lack of pain, awakens the desire for self-destruction? How far will we go? The new sex, the new pleasure of complete self-mutilation will end up killing our species before the new evolved humanity can replace the old. And we aren't the only one who is faced with this existential problem. Struggling throughout the entire movie with his own mortality, with his own body and with where in the world he will ever belong, our protagonist Saul Tenser eventually has to accept the new world. With a beautifully choreographed scene, that records his most intimate, his reluctant acceptance, on camera Saul Tenser eats a bar of plastic. Fed to him by his partner, who has long given herself to the evolutionist minds, he cries. Sitting on the machinery made to serve him, he cries. Fed the material made to last, he cries. Because the world that kills him, the body that has undergone thousands of removal surgeries, will stay with him forever. And we are left with more questions than we have answered. Provocative, thought-provoking and supplemented with the sensual camera work of Douglas Koch, Cronenberg creates this beautifully horrific piece of cinema once again. And what am I, if not a man who loves his work? Though I have been severely disappointed by the man himself not acting in this, he has always been a great addition to his own cast.

Reflective Essay
Life itself was the first piece of art and it was displayed on an infinite canvas. As I watched those devoted artists talk about their art I noticed a lot of similarities between them. Immersed in their work, one can even say a commitment. Being able to produce work from your imagination and turn it into something physical is pure beauty.
Lee Krasner has to be my favorite, because of the way she looks at art. She discussed how at times her art just comes to her miraculously; it seems that her self-awareness during her work helped her understand what it means to be an artist. Sometimes it doesn’t turn out how you want and sometimes it does. Lee’s comprehension of this simple fact allowed her to improve more as an artist.
The artists often described them as working from an earlier work and creating something new from that. That’s one of the major takeaways I got from the artists. To become skilled at anything it takes practice and these three artists exceeded beyond skill. That’s what inspires me the most, the countless hours and dedication it took for them to get there.
A takeaway from this collection of artists is that you must remain focused and persistent in the craft to get better. This takeaway can benefit me as student artist because it puts me in a sponge mentality. Always keep a mind of a student and you can’t go wrong. There were some words that stuck with me and it was from Lee Kranser. She goes on to talk about how not to force the work there beauty in just letting it be.
Something those artists all seem to share is the understanding of the connection between life and art. Highlighting the dedication and consistency required to evolve as an artist. The insights drawn from Lee Krasner and other artists emphasize that continuous practice and self-awareness are crucial for artistic growth and mastery.

#OO1. KAORI OINUMA 『 菜. 』
Kaori has always been drawn to the mysteries of the universe. Ever since she was a little girl, she had a deep curiosity about the world around her—why things worked the way they did, how everything in nature was connected. This fascination led her to study astrophysics at Seoul National University, where she could dive into understanding the universe in a way that made sense to her. For Kaori, astrophysics wasn’t just about studying distant stars and planets. It was about understanding the physical processes that govern everything. Her passion for science had always been a part of who she was, guiding her throughout her life.
However, Kaori wasn’t the type to spend her time on social media. In fact, her friends would often call her the “introvert social media non-user” because she preferred to stay away from the noise of online life. She believed that not using social media gave her more time to focus on the things that truly mattered to her. Time to do things that made her feel completely absorbed—what some might call being in a state of flow. For Kaori, this meant spending time on hobbies like soccer, where she could get lost in the game and baking, something she was still learning but enjoyed immensely. These were the things that kept her grounded, things that brought her peace and joy.
Before moving to Korea for her studies, Kaori lived in Paris for two years. It was a time in her life when she felt at ease, with a quiet pace that gave her space to think and reflect. During this time, she also played the cello— a beautiful instrument that allowed her to express herself in ways words couldn’t. But for reasons no one really knows, she stopped playing. It was a choice she made quietly and though people sometimes wondered about it, no one ever pushed her to talk about it.
When Kaori arrived in Seoul for university, her friends, knowing how much she kept to herself, gently encouraged her to join social media. At first, she was hesitant. The idea of diving into the world of likes, posts, and constant updates didn’t appeal to her. But there was one thing that changed her mind: her role model, Makiko Imamura. Makiko, the lead singer of the band Neon Reverie, had always inspired Kaori. Her music spoke to Kaori in a way nothing else did. So, despite her reluctance, Kaori created an account—mainly to follow Makiko and keep up with her life. Slowly but surely, Kaori started to learn how to use social media. It was a new world to her, one she wasn’t used to, but she took it at her own pace. Day by day, she became more comfortable, navigating the digital space with a sense of curiosity and a little caution.
Change is a part of life and Kaori was learning that it’s not something to fear but something to embrace. She had always been someone who thrived in quieter, simpler moments, but now, she was being pushed in new directions—both by her studies and her growing interest in music. She was learning to balance the things she loved, from astrophysics to her hobbies, and even the new experiences that social media offered. It was a process of growth, and though change could be hard, Kaori knew that it was up to her how it shaped her.
As Kaori moves forward in this new chapter of her life—balancing her studies, her hobbies, making music and the new world of social media—we can only watch and support her journey. It’s a journey of discovery, one that will continue to evolve as she learns more about herself and the world around her. And as she navigates these changes, we’ll be there, cheering her on every step of the way.
You, Neon Reverie and others

I get why people dont like Quiet Country Cafe as much as the original Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou. It focuses way more on Alpha and how she lives instead of how she reflects the world around her; The story feels like one of growth instead of quiet defiance. I like that. I still prefer the original, to me its enchanting watching the world wither and blossom around Alpha as she lives. Theres a romantic view of living with joy despite the rot around you. The world has ended, enjoy your coffee. In that sense Quiet Country Cafe takes her denial of the world stopping and flips it into acceptance, she moves forward and so the story has to give her depth. Thats really fun, she was already interesting and charming so now we get to see more. Its a good thing to see a media evolve along with its ideas, I think the shift from cel animation to digipaint alongside the change in focus all move together in unison. Its beautiful to see something adapt like that so honestly.
Also Quiet Country Cafe is like so much hornier jfc the amount of feet? I love it when a media is unafraid of its own lust.

Steps and Stories in Yuri's Early Years
As a parent, watching your child grow is both a beautiful and challenging experience. For Junie, this journey has been filled with milestones that have shaped her son Yuri from a tiny toddler into a curious little boy. Between the ages of 3 and 5, Junie observed significant changes in Yuri’s physical abilities, cognitive skills, and social interactions. These early childhood years are important, and through her experiences, Junie learned not only about the milestones but also about the challenges that come with them. In Junie’s story, we will explore the various physical, cognitive, and socioemotional milestones that Yuri reached during these formative years, the challenges he faced, and the deep satisfaction Junie felt as a parent.
During the early years of Yuri's life, Junie witnessed numerous physical milestones that filled her with joy. When Yuri was around 1 year old, he started crawling with ease, quickly transitioning to walking. The first time he took his first steps unassisted, Junie felt a rush of pride. It was a moment she would never forget Yuri wobbled across the living room, arms outstretched for balance, and his face lit up with excitement as he reached for her.
As Yuri continued to grow, his fine motor skills began to develop. Junie noticed how he could stack blocks and manipulate toys with increasing precision. Simple tasks like holding a crayon and drawing shapes became easier for him. One sunny afternoon, Junie sat with Yuri at the kitchen table, where he concentrated on coloring a picture of a house. She admired how he carefully stayed within the lines, a skill he had worked hard to master. However, there were challenges along the way. At times, Yuri struggled with coordination, especially when trying to catch a ball or balance on one foot. One day at the park, he excitedly ran to catch a butterfly but tripped and fell. Instead of getting discouraged, he jumped back up, brushing off his scraped knee, and said, "I can do it, Mommy!" Junie patiently encouraged him, understanding that these were natural parts of his development.
Every time Yuri accomplished a new physical skill, Junie felt a deep sense of fulfillment. Whether it was mastering a new drawing technique or finally being able to ride his small motorcycle, each achievement brought them closer. The joy in Yuri's eyes as he celebrated his victories made Junie realize the importance of supporting him through every stage of his physical growth.
Yuri's cognitive development was just as remarkable as his physical milestones. Junie observed how his thinking and problem-solving skills evolved during these early years. When Yuri turned 4, he began to ask questions about everything around him. “Why is the sky blue?” or “How does the car go?” were common phrases in their home. During breakfast one morning, he watched a bird outside the window and exclaimed, “Mommy, why can birds fly? I want to fly too!” These questions showed Junie that Yuri was not only curious but also eager to understand the world.
However, there were times when learning new concepts was challenging for Yuri. For example, he struggled with the idea of counting past ten. Junie tried different approaches to help him, such as counting toys during playtime or singing counting songs. They would count together as they built towers with blocks or sorted colorful balls. With patience and encouragement, Yuri eventually grasped the concept. When he proudly counted to twenty for the first time during a car ride, Junie's heart swelled with pride. She knew that these moments of struggle and triumph were essential for his cognitive growth.
One of the most memorable moments for Junie was when Yuri completed a simple puzzle by himself for the first time. He had always needed help before, but this time, he worked diligently on a dinosaur puzzle, turning each piece over to find the right fit. When he finally placed the last piece, he jumped up and shouted, "I did it, Mommy!" Junie cheered for him, and Yuri's face beamed with accomplishment. These moments of progress in learning made Junie realize the importance of nurturing Yuri's curiosity.
As Yuri grew, Junie noticed significant changes in his behavior and ability to interact with others. Initially, at age 3, Yuri was shy and reserved around other children. At a family gathering, he would cling to Junie’s leg when meeting new cousins, hesitant to join in their games. However, as he neared 5, things began to change. Yuri became more adventurous and confident, especially when he started preschool. Junie recalls one particular day at the playground when Yuri approached a group of children playing tag. Instead of waiting for someone to invite him, he confidently asked if he could join. Watching him make new friends filled Junie with joy and relief, knowing that he was becoming more comfortable in social settings.
Yet, this social interaction was not always smooth sailing. There were moments when Yuri struggled with managing his emotions, especially when he did not get his way. One day at the grocery store, he wanted a toy car, but Junie explained they were only there to shop for groceries. He threw a tantrum, causing other shoppers to look their way. Junie took a deep breath and knelt down to his level, calmly discussing his feelings. “I know you’re upset, but we can get a toy next time,” she said. It was moments like these that reminded Junie of the importance of teaching him how to express his feelings constructively.
Through these challenges, Junie found it rewarding to see Yuri develop empathy. One day, while playing in the backyard, she noticed him comforting a friend who had fallen down. He hugged the child and offered his favorite toy truck to cheer them up. These moments reassured Junie that her guidance was making a difference. Watching Yuri grow socially and emotionally, building friendships and understanding his feelings, was truly rewarding for her as a mom. She felt grateful knowing that her support played an important role in his journey toward becoming a caring and confident individual.
In Yuri's early childhood, Junie feels a mixture of pride, joy, and gratitude. Each milestone, whether physical, cognitive, or socioemotional, has shaped her son into the wonderful little boy he is today. While there were challenges along the way, these challenges provided opportunities for growth and learning for both Yuri and Junie. As she continues to support Yuri in his journey, Junie knows that these early years will serve as a strong foundation for his future. The love and encouragement she provides will help him manage life’s challenges and embrace new experiences with confidence. For Junie, there is no greater reward than witnessing her child's growth and development, and she looks forward to all the adventures that lie ahead.

Tangled and the Need for Closure: Why the Series Ruined a Perfect Ending
One of the most powerful aspects of Tangled is its sense of closure. The movie ties up all its major plot points and gives us a satisfying, heartfelt ending that feels like a beginning for Flynn and Rapunzel’s future together. They’ve overcome their pasts, faced challenges, and found freedom—and then, the film ends with their wedding, the symbol of everything they’ve been through and all the happiness ahead.
That’s what makes Tangled such a great movie. It’s a story about freedom, love, and choosing each other despite the odds. It doesn’t need a sequel, doesn’t need an extended universe. It’s a complete journey, with every loose end neatly tied up.
So, why, oh why, did Disney feel the need to keep Tangled going with the series?
A Beautiful Story Cut Short… For What?
Let’s be real—most of us love Tangled because it’s a story that stands on its own. Rapunzel, locked away in her tower, dreams of seeing the outside world, and Flynn, a thief with a heart of gold, gets roped into her adventure. They go from two strangers to a deeply connected couple, willing to risk everything for each other by the end of the film. There’s no need for more conflict, more drama, or more episodes—what makes the movie so charming is that it feels like a completed arc.
But then Disney made the series, and with it came the needless conflict. Suddenly, Rapunzel is unsure of Flynn, her commitment wavers, and the couple’s once-strong bond is strained in ways that don’t align with how their relationship was portrayed in the movie. The characters seem to regress, and that leaves fans like me utterly frustrated.
Why Closure Matters
When we watch Tangled, we expect to see Rapunzel and Flynn begin a new chapter of their lives together. We expect them to settle into a sense of peace and partnership, especially after everything they’ve been through. And the movie delivers on that. The ending is the closure we need as viewers, where we know that their love will carry them through whatever comes next.
But the series shatters that feeling of closure. Instead of seeing the couple grow and evolve together, we’re dragged into endless drama and miscommunication. In some episodes, Rapunzel seems to take Flynn for granted, or worse, question their future. She even rejects his marriage proposals. This not only feels inconsistent with the emotional arc they had in the movie, but it undermines the strength of their relationship.
To me, the worst part of the series is how it doesn’t respect the emotional closure of Tangled. Their love story didn’t need more drama. It needed peace, growth, and stability. And that’s what the series, frankly, failed to deliver.
The Problem with Forced Conflict
One of the main issues with the series is the forced conflict that arises simply for the sake of making more episodes. When a story has already achieved emotional and narrative closure like Tangled did, adding more drama or doubt to the central relationship feels unnecessary and frustrating.
For instance, we see Rapunzel keeping secrets from Flynn, letting Cassandra belittle him, and rejecting his marriage proposals. Why? All of this feels out of place. If the movie showed us two people who trusted and loved each other deeply, then why would they need to keep dragging out the idea that Rapunzel is unsure of Flynn or that Flynn is somehow less important to her? It’s just frustrating as a fan who wanted to see these characters grow, not regress.
The show forces us to question what we already knew—that they were meant for each other, and that no amount of outside obstacles could tear them apart. And by adding all this conflict, the series effectively cancels out the emotional resolution of the movie, which is what made the story so satisfying.
Why Tangled Needed No Sequel
The best sequels and spin-offs are the ones that expand on the world or characters in a meaningful way. But the Tangled series doesn’t expand—it rehashes. Instead of exploring the deeper emotional development of Flynn and Rapunzel or even exploring other characters in the world of Tangled, it keeps throwing unnecessary obstacles at the couple that ultimately diminish the beauty of their relationship.
At the end of the movie, Flynn and Rapunzel are both changed. They are ready to start a new chapter of their lives together. This was the perfect ending, and the sequel series should have respected that. Instead, it throws in a storyline that makes the characters seem more immature and unsure than they were in the movie.
The Tragic Fall of Flynn Rider’s Character
And while we’re talking about closure, can we also talk about what the series did to Flynn Rider? Flynn was already a complex character in Tangled. He starts as a selfish, self-centered thief and transforms into a loving, brave man who would sacrifice his life for Rapunzel. That journey is part of what makes him such a compelling character.
But the series… well, let’s just say Flynn becomes a shell of himself. He’s often portrayed as foolish, easily manipulated, and ultimately a puppet to Rapunzel’s decisions. Instead of seeing him as a confident, witty hero, we see him made into the butt of jokes, bullied, and belittled. Where’s the Flynn we fell in love with in the movie? Where’s the guy who had enough strength to lead them on that daring adventure to the lanterns? The series doesn’t just drop the ball with Flynn’s character—it kicks it down the street and leaves it there.
The Need for Real Closure
Ultimately, Tangled didn’t need a series to expand on its story. It had the perfect ending with Tangled Ever After. What the series did was disrupt the emotional journey that had already been completed. There was no need to add unnecessary tension or drama to Rapunzel and Flynn’s relationship, especially when that tension was forced and didn’t fit with their established dynamic.
If Disney wanted to give us more of these characters, they should have found new stories to tell within the Tangled universe—stories that didn’t mess with the resolution the movie gave us. Or at the very least, if the series was going to pick up where the movie left off, it should have respected the strong emotional arc of the characters and their relationship.
For me, the movie will always be the end of the story. Anything that tries to change or “expand” it just feels like a disservice to the beautiful closure Tangled gave us.
Flynn and Rapunzel’s love story was perfect as it was—and sometimes, it’s okay to let things end. We don’t need a sequel or spin-off to tell us that.

okay so, i know this is a crazy update. but i think it was a week or two ago, i was changing over my makeup collection into drawers instead of on a shelf. i have them organized by collections, because i was kind of a collector at one point, and i just, i like to remember the launches and releases, the order in which the brand grew and the story it tells chronologically through their releases, of their brands history. and i cherish the moments of excitement and inspiration that was stirred around, all this awesome energy you know around these beautiful launches which so much love and care went into, from their earliest ideas to, creation and fruition- to selling out shelves. i remember the brand and it was honestly iconic "growing into' my love for makeup alongside the birth and growth of kylie cosmetics, a favorite, who i identified with for a lot of reasons. kylie herself being, of course, an icon who, i really related to just as a girl, girl to girl. you know. we were very close in age, and i honestly felt understood by kylie, or a part of me did anyway, though our life styles may be very different, just as people and what i knew about her, i found her to be both very relatable, and inspiring as a girl my own age, going out into the world, you know, being entreprenuerial, putting her love into something that interested her, working very hard to build it from the ground up. watching the immense success it had, was the same feeling as when your favorite makes a touch down, you're on the winning team and, cheering in the stands with excitement amongst thousands of others who just wanted to see, her success of her endeavors really in whatever she do.
it was deeply meaningful to me, as i clung to makeup in a time in my life where i had experienced loss, and the creative pursuit allowed me to break out of my hollow shell, little by little, as i healed. as my skills in makeup grew, so did my social circles, and my sense of belonging, and enjoying being, just myself- playing, innocently like a child but also, displaying a level of technical skill in application that allowed me to portray just how i felt that day- finding my own identity as an artist, and as a person over all. a young 20's girl just, trying to find her way through life.
i posted makeup related content on the internet, and really enjoyed being a part of the community's online as well, and i created some of my own content, which allowed me to connect with people i would of never otherwise met- and expand my horizons.
it's emotional just how, inspiring kylie's brand was for me, and just how attached to it i was because it truly was my first love in brands with makeup, as i got started being interested in it, and, i continued to remain inspired to press boundaries and, feel new vibes i hadn't felt out before, trying on new forms of expression and vision- that came from kylie, and her creative teams.
style and makeup wise, a huge inspiration, always. and as she evolved, we evolved with it. you know. needless to say, i was a huge kylie fan. there for every launch, ordering things before it goes sold out- the full colections. the collection i had at home, was absolutely beautiful- the colors, the palettes, the brand aesthetics. the glitter. the baby pink boxes. i loved, it, all.
it made me happy too, in a time where, i was still trying to find my way toward my own happiness. and not to mention, i had, so much fun, just playing, being creative, and going out you with various looks on and, improving my skills, learning about formulations, learning about brands and marketing, and, manufacturing process and labs, and business. as a young adult, the cosmetic industry as a whole, was very fascinating- and all the buzz, around it, very, inspiring. there was a lot you could do with this, and a lot of directions you could take it. it was kind of, liberating.
there was movements in the beauty industry, that, caused real change in the consumer market to shift almost seemingly overnight. products that never would of been thought of as possible were now given a voice and the funding for production, and widely supported globally. new milestones reached, and diversity reach broadened makeup's scop for the first time- in a long time- much needed mind you. highlighting and uplifting everyone's beauty. beauty for all. this fairness and equality that was sought after by the public, changed brand motto's, and how every launch was tailored and thought of.
it was impressive to witness the real time interaction between the beauty community, and its permanent impact on the way business and beauty, and commerce- the market was impacted as a whole- aiming for honesty, transparency, authenticity, healthy safe products, no false advertising, and truly standing for important causes related to the industry- holding the industry accountable now, no longer letting them get away with anything 'uncool.'
two weeks ago or so, give or take. recently, i guess. i found four of my kylie palettes had been destroyed by my 3 year old neice. my heart sank, as everyone laughed at me discovered the palettes had been secretly dug into and 'ruined' with her finger nails. i encouraged her to play with makeup, but it was understood only certain palettes were for her. of course, she wanted to play with the favorite- kylie. as it was my favorite too. so she must of done it when no one was looking- very briefly. and in that short time, managed to destroy four collectors items palettes- from cherished collections of the brands launch history, that will never come back into production again.
i could find them online, probably being sold at top dollar- it would be difficult to authenticate or ensure there was no tampering with the product.... but, regardless. this fauxpa has me realizing that
for makeup collectors, it might be nice to have, a sort of insurance system for, people who collect rare things that increase in value over time, etc. hopefully i'll be able to replace the four palettes.
i was like, no! not the kylie cosmetics!!!!!! i'll be keeping everything behind lock and key from now on- run tight security on this collection!

One of the greatest joys of greeting the New Year is the chance it offers to express heartfelt feelings to those we hold dear. For those looking to narrate their affection in a memorable way, you may be considering how to craft profound New Year wishes for your girlfriend. After all, a thoughtful, loving wish can go a long way towards lighting up your loved one's face as you both embark on a brand new year.
Read on to delve into a wealth of ideas on curating sincere New Year wishes, carefully composed to let your girlfriend know just how much she means to you.
Underscore Appreciation A great New Year's message starts with recognizing and expressing gratitude for your shared journey. Remind your girlfriend how she enriches your life with her love and companionship. For example: “My love, this past year with you has been filled with unforgettable moments that I'll treasure forever. I can't wait to make more beautiful memories with you in the coming year.”
Reflect on Your Growth Together Take some time to acknowledge how your relationship has grown and evolved. This could be a reflection of shared experiences, learned lessons, and your journey together. A message like, “As we step into another year, I can't help but reflect on how much we've grown together. Here's to growing, learning, and loving even more in the New Year.” can perfectly encapsulate this sentiment.
Convey Your Dreams and Hopes Another wonderful idea for New Year wishes for your girlfriend is to include your hopes and dreams for the future. Give her a glimpse into the future you envision together. An example could be: “With the dawn of this New Year, I look forward to further nurturing our love, experiencing new adventures with you, and realizing our shared dreams. Here's to a year of boundless love and joy!”
Include a Romantic Quote While tailor-made messages have their charm, an appropriately chosen romantic quote can also encapsulate your feelings beautifully. A poignant quote like, “For last year's words belong to last year's language, and next year's words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning” - T.S Eliot, can gracefully articulate your emotions.
Keep it Simple and Genuine Sometimes, a simple and heartfelt message can say it all. “Thank you for being my sunshine in all seasons. I look forward to another beautiful year with you. Happy New Year, my love.” This sincere wish is enough to express your love and eagerness for the coming year.
Remember, in the end, speaking from the heart is the most crucial step in crafting heartfelt New Year wishes for your girlfriend. Frame the words that best embody your mutual love and shared experiences; this will allow the wish to resonate thoroughly with her emotions. Use this New Year’s opportunity to celebrate your journey together and foster your mutual dreams for the future.
So go ahead, sprinkle some love-filled words into the New Year and watch it sparkle with joy, promise, and heartfelt adoration for your beloved. Cheers to your incredible journey in the year to come!
